The History

In 1978, Christopher “Chico” Dalrymple founded The Gentlemen’s Corner based on a simple idea – “always offer the best.” It has worked for more than 30 years – bringing the best of its kind – whatever the category – sport jackets, trousers, outerwear, shoes, ties – in materials, stylings, and colors selected especially for the culture and climate of the Carolinas.

This emphasis on the best extends beyond just the merchandise – The Gentlemen’s Corner prides itself on personalized service based on individual needs. If a size is not within our usual range, we’ll make every attempt to order it specially; if there’s a color we’ve missed, we’ll try to find it; if it’s a special occasion, we’ll work to meet every requirement.

In October, co-owner Harrison James Sasser, a North Carolina native and UNCW graduate, opened a new location in Wilmington’s Lumina Station.

The coastal location offers yet another convenient means of providing clothing of the highest quality, in the best of taste, with a unique flair.

The Gentlemen’s Corner is committed to continuing this tradition of offering the best in quality and service. The third generation is as dedicated as was the first! You may depend upon it.

The Gentlemen’s Corner offers lines such as Peter Millar, Robert Talbott, Robert Graham, Scott James, Bills Khakis, Agave Jeans, Kiel James Patrick, Arnold Zimberg, Kroon, Ballin Trousers, Seaward and Stearn, Randolph Engineering, Gardeur Jeans, Hiltl Trousers, Martin Dingman, Coast, and Smathers and Branson Belts (just to name a few!) …
